The number of rescues in the Coromandel and Thames regions by the Auckland Rescue Helicopter has increased by 85% in the last four years and with that increase came a need for a local helicopter base. Up and running over the summer months since November 2012 the need has arisen for a tractor and mower to both take care of the grounds and assist in moving the helicopter around the premises especially once a helicopter takes up permanent residence here in the next 12-18 months.
Central Motors (2001) Ltd and Kubota New Zealand are proud to continue their support of rescue helicopter services with the support of the Coromandel Rescue Helicopter’s Whitianga base by gifting a BX2360 for use to move the helicopter around the base, as well as their purchase of a mowing deck to keep the grounds tidy.
C B Norwood Distributors Ltd Kubota Manager Ian Massicks says one of Kubota’s most important strategies is to support the local community. "The Coromandel Rescue Helicopter base is important to the local community with permanent residents and holidaymakers benefiting from a locally based service with even quicker response times.”
Central Motors 2001 Ltd Owner/Manager Mark Browne says he is very proud to be involved in such a worthwhile cause.
Greg Brownson; Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust Helicopter Manager says "The Rescue helicopter lands and takes off from a large flat trailer which is towed in and out of the Hangar. With the new BX2360 it will give the flight crew the reliability we require when responding to emergency missions. Thank you Central Motors and Kubota for your support”.
The BX2360 tractor unit offers a range of high quality features that will make short work of all the mower and helicopter manoeuvring required. With a hydrostatic transmission it is easy and smooth to operate and bright halogen headlights offer a little bit extra safety for the crew when working between dusk and dawn.
